The Special Education Department, in collaboration with the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, has inaugurated Phase 4 of the "Health Screening 2025" initiative, aimed at ensuring the health and well-being of students in all special education institutes across Punjab. The program focuses on conducting comprehensive screenings for children by various departments, including detailed physical examinations by pediatricians, dental care assessments, audiology evaluations, visual impairment screenings, psychological evaluations, and speech evaluations. These screenings will help identify potential health concerns and ensure a holistic understanding of the children’s medical and developmental needs.
The Secretary of the Special Education Department highlighted that the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to the welfare of children with special needs and will cover all remaining districts in Punjab. This collaborative effort marks a major milestone in fostering an inclusive healthcare system and improving the quality of life for children with disabilities.
