In a dedicated effort to combat the spread of dengue, the Special Education Department observed Dengue Day with a series of impactful initiatives on Saturday afternoon. Under the banner of Dengue Day, a multitude of activities were organized to raise awareness, educate, and engage the staff and students in the fight against this prevalent viral disease.
Led by Madam Saima Saeed Secretary Special Education and Ms. Kausar Khan, DG Special Education Punjab, the Dengue Awareness Walk took place within the premises of the Special Education Department. Participants marched together, demonstrating unity and determination to confront the dengue menace head-on. Carrying placards with informative messages, they emphasized the importance of adopting dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in schools and official buildings.
During the awareness walk, secretary special education Madam Saima Saeed and Madam Kausar Khan, DG Special Education Punjab, addressed the gathering and underscored the significance of proactive measures in combating dengue. They urged the staff and students to diligently follow the recommended SOPs, particularly in eliminating stagnant water. By removing potential mosquito breeding sites, such as water accumulation on school premises and official building rooftops, the risk of dengue transmission can be significantly reduced.
In addition to the awareness walk, a comprehensive dengue awareness session was conducted. The session aimed to equip participants with crucial knowledge about dengue prevention, symptoms, and treatment. Attendees received valuable information on the importance of early detection, seeking medical assistance, and practicing personal protective measures to minimize the risk of dengue infection.
