Independence Day

The Day of Independence is celebrated in all the special educational institutions on 14th August every year with full patriotic enthusiasm, zeal and fervor. Special students present Milli Naghmas, tableaus and other items to show national spirit.

White Cane Safety Day (15th October)

The first White Cane Ordinance was pursed in December 1930 in Peoria. In 1935, Michigan began promoting the White Cane was a visible symbol for the Blind. On 6th October, 1964, a joint resolution of the Congress HR 753 was signed into law authorizing the President of the United States to proclaim October 15th of each year as "White Cane Safety Day". It is used as symbol which alerts others to the fact that individual holding it is a blind person.

International Teacher's Day (5th October)

World Teachers Day is celebrated all over the World on 5th October. The objective of the day is to recognize the importance of the teaching profession and acknowledge the contributions made by the teachers in our lives.

Universal Children Day (20th November)

General Assembly of the UNO vide Resolution 44/25 of 20th November, 1989 adopted and opened for signature, ratification and accession to extend particular case to the child stated in the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child of 1924 and in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child adopted by the General Assembly on 20th November, 1959 and recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (in particular in Article 23 and 24), in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (in particular in Article 10) and in the Statutes and relevant instruments of specialized agencies and International Organization concerned with the welfare of the children.

Dengue Day

To combat the menace of Dengue virus in the Punjab Province and in pursuance with the instructions of Government/ Chief Minister, Dengue Days are observed throughout the Province to create awareness amongst the masses and to adopt measure for its prevention. Special Education Department and all the Institutions of Special Education fully participate in observance of Anti Dengue Days (whenever announced).

International Day for the Persons with Disabilities

Over one billion people, or approximately 15 percent of the world's population, live with some of disability and they are facing physical, social, economic and attitudinal barriers that exclude them from participating fully and effectively as equal members of the society. This day is celebrated on 3rd of December every year across the globe to create awareness amongst the masses to bring a change in attitude and approaches to disability to ensure the full equality and participation of persons with disabilities in the society.

Arts & Crafts Exhibition

Special students studying in the institutions of special education. Educational activities are also imparted vocational training to fulfill their creative pursuits. Special Education Department has taken an initiative to promote such activities through organizing Arts & Crafts Exhibitions at provincial, divisional and district headquarters level.
